3D replicas for non-destructive testing and field applications
The tough, flexible high-resolution replicas allow even inaccessible engineering surfaces to be examined and measured under laboratory conditions.
A replica can be taken from all metallic surfaces and most other solid materials like ceramics, plastics and glass. |

| |
| This advanced replica technique opens for a vast range of applications
within engineering inspection, metrology and forensic investigation. Typically, high tech engineering industries include power generation, aerospace, chemical plants, off-shore industry, etc. |

| The RepliSet system RepliSet is a complete system
for replicating materials. RepliSet produces an exact 3D copy of the surface on-site. It is easy
and safe
to work with and compatible with the materials to be replicated.
High resolution and form stability RepliSet can replicate details with dimensions less than 0.1 micron over the whole replica surface, which can be of any size or shape. RepliSet has no shrinkage and can thus be used for high accuracy metrology measurements. |
| |
 |
| The RepliSet system can even produce replicas which are dimensionally correct and have an ultrafine detail reproduction as well as a plane back. |
| |
|
| As the RepliSet replicas have a high tear strength and flexibility, they can easily be removed from moderately re-entrant geometry without damage or distortion. Upon release, the material returns to its original shape. Replicas can be transported without any problems and the permanent 3D record can be stored for future reference.
Under all conditions Generally, weather conditions are not a problem. Being water-repellent, RepliSet can provide replicas of humid surfaces and cure on surfaces with temperatures ranging from 10°C to +180°C. Replicas of any size and shape
can be produced, even from vertical or overhead surfaces. |

 |
| A variety of examination methods
RepliSet types are available, either for optical microscopy, including micro-structural examination using reflected light, or for high image contrast, when the surface is examined in a stereomicroscope with oblique illumination.
Interferometry can be used for precise surface measurements including determination of surface finish.
Uncoated or metal coated replicas can be examined by SEM. Laser measuring equipment and measuring projectors with 2D or 3D facilities are very well-suited for the examination.

RepliSet is an accepted replicating system for ASTM standard E 1351 Standard Practice for Production and Evaluation of Field Metallographic Replicas. |

| Transcopy replica foil Transcopy replica foil is used to make a replica of any polished and etched surface. The foil is particularly useful when micrographs of an on-site prepared structure are required or analysis using a portable microscope is insufficient.
Transcopy replica foil consists of reflecting plastic film with a self-adhesive backing.
A replica is made by applying Transcopy fluid to the film and pressing it firmly onto the prepared and etched surface. After 4-5 minutes, the foil is removed from the surface. By removing the cover paper, the replica can be adhered to a plain plate and then examined under an optical microscope. |
