Get to know us better by exploring our history and vision, our laboratories, the people who make it happen – and what this means for you.

In 1875, Struers was established in Copenhagen, Denmark, by our founder, Holger F. Struer, who recognized the need for better research capabilities based on chemical analysis. Struers initially focused on importing and selling scientific instruments. Over the years, Struers transitioned into manufacturing and became a pioneer in the field of materialography.

In the 1930s, we started developing our own products, particularly equipment for metallographic sample preparation. We are proud to play a vital role in advancing this field by introducing innovative solutions for cutting, grinding, polishing, and analyzing material samples. Ever since, we have been developing innovative solutions that make the world a better place.

Today, we are a trusted partner in the fast-changing world of laboratory analysis and quality control. We constantly work to improve our equipment and consumables so our customers can perform faster, more efficiently, and more accurately in sample preparation. We are proud of our long history of being the first in the industry with many new metallographic innovations. Here are some of the moments we’re most proud of.
